The Travelling Gallery is a contemporary art gallery … in a bus! Since 1978 the gallery has travelled around Scotland (and recently to the North of England) allowing people to access contemporary art from their community.

Bel’s work was exhibited with Project Ability artists Grant Glennie, Sian Mather and Simon McAuley. The ReConnect Exhibition will be travelling around Scotland until December 2022. Check the Travelling Gallery Website for their upcoming tour dates.

All Photographs by Sam McDiarmid

Bels offering for the exhibition included work that documented their performance as a WAIWAV artist. The crocheted pod on display is the pod Bel created during their 6-hour durational performance. A timelapse video of the performance was available for gallery visitors, as well as a chance to feel (and even try on) some of the practice pods that Bel made during their process.

A photograph of Bel's crocheted pod. The pod is made from waste material from tshirt manufacture, using pink and blue fabric. The crochet is suspended from a hoop hung from the ceiling. To the right is a timelapse video of the performance
